Hello today i going to talk you about my reading habits. Lately I read books from time to time, in moments that university and my social life leaves me free time haha. The truth is that when I was little I only read the books that the school asked me to read and I enjoyed it. When I grew up I got the taste to do it on my own and look for books that made me curious. I don't have a count of how many books I’ve read in my life, but I know that I have read several.
The types of books I like to read lately are feminist themed,
stories about women, written by women, also environmentalism, history and even
a bit of philosophy. I read a lot of nonfiction in the pandemic, and now I need
a breather so I'm reading a novel to escape reality for a moment with the help
of fiction.
I don't have a favorite author, but I have really enjoyed Marcela
Serrano's books, as well as Yuval Harari. My favorite book of 2020 was The
Three Ecologies by Felix Guattari, I liked the fact that it was a book of 89
but that it deals with things that are still on the lips and that took even
more importance. That it talked about the relevance of "Ecosophy" in the context
of the climate crisis. In fact, talking
about this, it made me want to read it again haha.
The last book I read was Without Fear by Judith Butler, I really enjoyed it, I started reading it while I was working as an examiner at the PTU and it accompanied me on subway rides and dead hours at work so I finished reading it in about five days. The book has a compilation of Judith's conferences where she talks about justice, dissidences and criticism, looks at the current landscape of migrants and the lives they are “worth”. It is super enlightening.
